Amazon.com Product Description If you're in the market for a solid, economical electric mower, the Black & Decker 18-inch electric mower is worth a look. Powered by a high-efficiency, 6.5 amp, Black & Decker motor, this mower offers quiet, hassle-free operation, without the mess and expense of gas-and-oil models. No need for tune-ups and pull starts, either. This mower weighs just 36 pounds, making it easy to push and maneuver in the lawn. It features an 18-inch cutting blade; side discharge (optional Black & Decker side bag assembly #BA-075 sold separately); a rust-proof, polymer deck; and one-touch height adjustment (from 1 to 3-1/2 inches). Tool-free assembly means you'll be up and mowing quickly, while a lifetime deck warranty and two-year warranty on the mower itself provide added peace of mind. --Carl Thress

A CLEAN CUT November 19, 2008 Gerard V. Magariello (ROBBINSVILLE, NJ) THIS MACHINE IS A "CUT" ABOVE THE REST! IT HAS SUFFICIENT POWER TO CUT CLEAN AND ITS SIMPLE TO ADJUST THE CUTTING HEIGHT. ASSEMBLY DIRECTIONS ALTHO MINIMAL,CAN BE A BIT MORE SPECIFIC AND THE DIAGRAMS COULD BE LARGER.
Perfect for a small yard November 4, 2008 suze-q (Florida) Pros: Low maintenance (no oil or spark plugs to change) Easy to start up, great if you need frequent breaks Lightweight and quiet No stinky fumes Cons: Gets bogged down easily in taller/damp grass Electric cord can get in the way I've used this mower for about 3 months now. When we had a lot of rain and heavy flooding it was very difficult to get my lawn mowed. Had to put it on the tallest setting and use multiple passes to slog through. Overall though, I love this mower. Once you get a pattern set with your electric cord (hint, start close to the house/outlet and move outward) it's pretty easy to manage - no more difficult to start/stop/push than a vacuum cleaner. It does a nice job and my lawn looks better than it ever did when I hired a "professional" to keep it mowed, plus I'm saving money too! Very glad I made this purchase.
Mower review November 2, 2008 Patricia Jensen (Bozeman, MT USA) This is a great economically priced and eco-friendly lawnmower; easy to setup and works really well with the optional grass/leaf catcher.
great mower October 31, 2008 K. S. McHugh (Memphis, TN) I have a small, urban yard, but it does grow thick and needs weekly mowing in the spring and summer. I bought this mower in 2001. It has been used hundreds of times and all I've ever done is have the blade sharpened at the hardware store every 3 years. This is the best purchase I've ever made in the lawn care department. Its easy to start, easy to push, and requires zero maintenance. There is a little bit of cord maintenance involved when actually mowing, but its easy enough to figure out. I don't know how it will work in a larger yard, but I'm about to find out as I'm moving and taking it with me. I have no plans to buy a gas mower and all the maintenance that is required to own one. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with a small yard or a female who doesn't like throwing her shoulder out starting a gas mower. Plus its so lightweight, easy to push and does not tear up your yard when its damp like a heavier mower. This is just a great purchase for anyone who doesn't enjoy changing spark plugs, mixing gas, and changing oil.
Black and Decker Electric Mower LM175 October 28, 2008 PC (Columbus, Ohio) A good quiet and efficient mower. The one adjustment for all four wheels is handy, too. I've had several electric mowers, because they are quieter and less polluting. They have been much more reliable than the gas ones that I used to replace every few years. The electrics seem to last for 10 years plus. I do miss the flip over handle that my older B &D had. I assumed that all models have that, but this one didn't. I should have researched it a bit more.
