Very Satisfied July 29, 2010 L. Barlow (Phoenix, AZ) Arrived promptly and in excellent condition. Have used it twice and no problems. Easy to push, and mulcher is easy to use.
Love this mower! July 25, 2010 texas lady I hadn't really considered an electric mower before but thought this may be the time to give one a try. After reading MANY reviews I decided to buy this mower. I went with the corded model because it was less expensive and I had read it was lighter and easier to push. I am very pleased. My yard is about 1/4 acre, I bought a 100' cord and am able to reach my whole yard. I don't find the cord that much of a problem. Starting is a joy, just pull up on the handle. Changing height adjustment couldn't be easier, one simple lever. Highly recommend.
died after 8 uses & warranty voided when I took it in July 23, 2010 James R. Herman (Hillsboro Ohio) I bought this from Amazon last Nov 2009 to mulch the fallen leaves on my quarter acre lot as well as to mow the lawn. I got the right size 100 foot extension cord. On first use I went over some protruding tree roots and the blade hacked into the underside. So the roots must've caused the blade to angle up into the deck. I unplugged and used a hack saw to remove the half inch thick and about 10 inches long part of the deck that got sliced and was hanging down. The mower still worked OK so I used it 7 more times this season. Near the end of June 2010 I was cutting in the mulching position and noticed the motor slowing down. So I did what I always did. I pushed down on the handle to lift the front end so the motor could regain speed and then I proceeded. Well this time the circuit breaker tripped at the electrical panel inside. I reset the breaker and made sure I had power at the end of the extension cord. But when I tried to run the mower the motor would not run and the circuit breaker would trip again. I took it to the service center. About 10 days later the service center called and told me that Black & Decker voided my warranty. End of story. So I'll not buy another Black & Decker product since they won't even honor their two year warranty on this mower. I told the service center to go ahead and dispose of the mower for me and thanked them for trying. I've since purchased a Lehr propane powered mower and so far so good with that. I also bought it from [...]. You can check it out at [...]
Electric lawn mower, Back & Decker MM875--GREAT CHOICE July 23, 2010 Alan Rees (Northern California) This GREAT buy resulted from using two internet tools. First I used Consumer Reports to narrow my search to the lawmowers that could work for me. I then used Google shopping to find the best source. Amazon had the lowest price WITHOUT shipping or tax. This made it a quick and easy purchase from a trusted source. The mower works great---NO gas to deal with and the motor is quiet. The mower is easy to assemble and adjust. The mulching feature leaves a great looking lawm, without having to deal with disposal.
Better than the Homelite that it replaced July 20, 2010 Sunny in Seattle The title says it all. I really like the discharge to the bag on this one and the bottom of the bag stays straight to let the cut grass in. My previous mowers bag humped up over time and blocked the discharge so grass would build up under the machine and not do very good job for me. Only time will tell if the motor holds up better than the Homelite ne did.
