Husqvarna 7021P 21-Inch 160 cc Honda Lawn Mower June 5, 2010 J.P. (Oil City, Pa United States) What a great lawnmower!
With a little more then 3 hours break-in time on the Honda Engine , I think it's safe to say that I got a good one. I love the sound (tone) of the engine, you can tell it's a Honda ;-)
I had some deep grass to mow due to the failure of my 25 year old 5 hp Tecumseh mower RIP (served me well).
Anyhow, this Husqvarna 7021P is a serious lawn mower, for anyone that likes high performance equipment. I was very impressed with the power. The dual bearing wheels made pushing a breeze. That is my first impression. Should I have any trouble, I will be sure to post a follow-up... "No News is Good News"
High quality, good price, and basic May 20, 2010 R. Hagan (Chattanooga, TN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a note I've only owned this mower for a week now. I've mowed our 1.5 acres of grass and tall weeds and it works as advertised. It's lightweight and it powers thru most everything. The mower starts the first pull every time and it takes hardly any effort to pull the cord. The double ball bearing wheels are smooth and they seem sturdy. The high rear wheels are nice as well. The breakdown of the handle for storage purposes is great as well and it's a hard feature to find.
We have no plans of using the bag and we've mulched everything so far. The only clumps of grass created are where the grass is extra tall and it's wet down low. We plan on mowing everything at the highest setting available.
All in all we looked at everything under $300 and this was the best we could find. We've had a self propelled and never again. This mower is very easy to push and it's more comfortable to go at your own pace. The mower is very easy to maneuver in tight spaces as well. We have very rolling terrain and while it's a decent exercise it's nothing overly strenuous. It takes us about 4 hours to cut the entire 1.5 acres.
Other models that we shopped for were cub cadet, toro, honda, craftsman, and john deere. Also, our last mower, a self propelled Honda had the exact same engine and we've had it, and abused it, now for over 10 years. The engine is the best thing on that mower and I'm happy that my new husqvarna seems to have the exact same engine. Best of luck and should things change I'll report back.
Worst Product Ever May 9, 2010 M. Balzano 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have owned this mower for 2 years. Its the worst piece of junk ever. It never starts right up, NEVER. I am trying to start it right now after sitting for the winter and after 30 minutes and 100+ pulls it still wont start. The cord is too short so its always stretching in too far every time you pull it. So the cord broke right off in the first summer I had it. It was probably within the first 10 times of using it. If I could pick this thing up and spike it into the ground like a football I would do it repeatedly.
Consider suicide before adding this junk to your life - and all the terrible frustrations it brings with it.
Durable, powerful, great value March 23, 2010 Stonebroke (U.S.A.) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought my Husqvarna 21 inch push mower with the 5.5HP Honda engine in 2003. I mow about 1 acre total of non-irrigated weeds on hilly rough terrain. I beat this mower up year after year and it's never failed to start right up and offer up plenty of power through tall grass. This year (2010) during the first mowing of the season I ran over a small tree stump and bent the crankshaft, even doing the work myself it will probably be too expensive to justify repairing a 7 year old mower but I will definitely replace it with the same thing when I get a new one.
6/11/2010 Follow-up: I was able to find a crankshaft online inexpensively which allowed me to try to do the repair myself. I am happy to report that the mower re-build project was a success and my Honda engine is purring along happily once again, may I get many more seasons of use from this very durable lawn mower.
