Product Description Responding to the need for an easy-to-use machine that takes care of the smaller yards, Sun Joe developed the Mow Joe MJ401E, a smaller electric lawn mower that delivers the power of a gas machine with the convenience of an electric unit. Its durable steel blade cuts 14" wide with precision on each pass. In addition to its hard-working mowing capacity, the Mow Joe features a three position manual height adjustment. The Mow Joe is equipped with a hard top rear bag, which detaches easily for convenient disposal. No gas, oil, or tune-ups are necessary.

Great little mower July 24, 2010 Marion D. Dickinson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love it, it is light and easy to use even for an old person. The little bag is a pain, but acceptable.
I love this lawn mower July 1, 2010 Mike Hg 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am 61 yrs old, have been trying to look for a light lawn mower for a long time. So I ordered this Sun Joe. Putting it up is pretty easy. And, surprisingly it does job very well too. To tell the truth, I really love this small lawn machine.
Lightweight, easy to use mower for your bi-weekly mowing July 1, 2010 Kartik Jayaraman (Oceanside, CA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
As soon as my wife saw the Mow Joe, she found it extremely cute looking. Well that wasn't the only reason we bought this mower. We wanted a mower that's:
- Electric (Gas mowers are loud, high maintenance, the cordless ones are not powerful enough even for light mows)
- Cost effective (The Mow Joe is one of the best bang for money)
- Yes it was cute and different looking (green vs the usual red-orange-steel)
We've been using the Mow Joe for a few weeks now. Here are the pros and cons we found:
Pros
+ Lightweight and easy to use and maneuver
+ Includes a lifting handle right in the center bottom (its very light and easy to lift)
+ Best bang for your buck
+ Very low noise (sounds like a loud fan but that's it)
+ Grass catcher is extremely good, we hardly spill any grass over
+ 3 height adjustments
Cons
- The highest cutting height is quite low - so you have to ensure you mow every 2 weeks or so to ensure you don't see bald patches or white patches in your lawn
- The grass catcher could have been bigger vertically. It needs to be emptied about 4 times for our 600 sq ft lawn. not too much of a problem though
- The manual doesn't mention anything about height adjustment. Its actually a slotted height adjustment for which you have to turn the mower upside down.
Overall this is probably the best mower you can buy for around $150. Highly recommended!!

My yard is small so a manual reel mower seemed fine for a number of years. But I wanted a more polished look for my lawn and I wanted to collect the clippings. The Mow Joe seemed like the perfect and very inexpensive answer. So far, I love it. It's easy to use, stores neatly in the garage and gives the look to the lawn I want. Only negative - the clipping collecter is a little tough to get positioned just right and falls off sometimes. It's only a minor inconvenience.
Got my Mow Joe!!! June 29, 2010 Linda Butler (KENT, WA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am 65 and have a heart condition.....got rid of my 18" mower and had someone doing my yard (at $20 a pop)....bought this little mower and now I am doing my own yard again....I love the small grass catcher as it is easy for me to handle....This is a wonderful mower for the elderly....and the top winner for smaller yards!!!
