Product Description The Neuton CE6 Mower gives you the powerful performance of a gas mower with convenience of DURACELL battery technology. There is no gas or oil to spill and no engine emissions to pollute the air. Neuton is the only mower powered by DURACELL. With 360 watt-hours of battery energy, it has plenty of power to mow through even tall, wet grass. The Neuton CE 6 mower is ideal for lawns up to 1/3 acre (about 15,000 sq. ft.) on a single charge. If you need more time, just drop in an optional spare battery and keep mowing.

Neuton CE 6.5 July 6, 2010 R. Chew (Sacramento, CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Don't waste your money! I purchased the Neuton CE 6.4 lawnmower through our local utility company, as they tried to entice weekend warriors to go green by trading in their gas mowers with the cordless Neuton mower, which they sold at a discount. Well, I fell for the sucker punch. This worthless, whimpy plastic Neuton doesn't have the power to generate suction to vaccum the grass clippings. Most of it gets thrown out, and if your front lawn is adjacent to the sidewalk, like mine, then you spent the more time sweeping and blowing than mowing. If you have a sizeable yard, forget it. The battery depletes before you can finish your job. Did I mention how cheap this piece of crap is? I purchased the mower in March 2010, and, with only once a week use, already the Power/Mode switch is broken, and it won't start. I had to borrow my neighbor's gas mower this weekend. I plan to scrap this piece of junk and donate it to local charity and buy another muscle gas mower.
Poor Manufacturing / Short Life July 2, 2010 Ex-NeutronUser 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the type of product that can damage Amazon's brand only by association. Before buying a Neuton, be sure to do what I did not and locate and investigate reviews from a number of sources. Similar problems are so common that the truth eventually becomes obvious and the sincerity of the reviewers becomes unquestionable. I don't know if it is proper to mention those sites here, so I won't.
Typically - and specifically in my case - after about 6 uses, my (new) Model EM 5.1 stopped working. Naturally, since there are so few parts, I assumed it to be a battery problem. This solution is nearly always offered by Neuton support as documented in so many reviews elsewhere. So, in spite of the short life, (and after letting the unit sit out the rest of the season), I ordered a battery. Now I have two batteries, neither of which, though new or nearly new, are worth selling due to the cost of shipping.
Finally, reading the reviews lead me to believe that customer service would not provide additional advice of value, I gave up on it. Now, not concerned about a warranty issue and out of curiosity I asked a mechanic to look into the motor and he said that it was either very old or poorly constructed. Obviously, the fact that I did not bother to contact support has nothing to do with a poorly built motor.
Arguments for buying a Neuton closely follow the reasons for buying any electric mower in general. A short-lived electric device, however does more to damage the environment than help it. As is so often the case with green products, as consumers, our good intent does not guarantee any thing more than that we spend money. Now I must dispose of batteries, electric motor and plastic and metal parts.
Ok mower but beware June 15, 2010 Crispee (Westminster, CO United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off I like the mower. It does great and is very quiet. But dealing with a dead battery every spring is frustrating beyond belief. The last time it happened I ordered another one and they guy on the phone told me that i should have kept it indoors all winter. Well - ok, why not put that little info on the battery?? So I did that and this spring guess what? Yep, dead battery. Oh and the warranty is just 1 year so no dice on a replacement (funny how that goes out right when I'm going to need to use it again). Just got off with their tech support and now find out not only did i need to keep it indoors but also charge it up once a month. OMG -- so I have to buy another battery. This mower is going to cost me about $1000 when all said and done.
I wish I had stuck with gas now -- but I have so much invested I will keep it. Just keep this in mind when purchasing one of these. And save your $$$$$.
Best Mower I Ever Owned June 13, 2010 bagpiper8 (colorado, United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm not sure about what others may be complaining about concerning the CE 6.4, but I have nothing but positive things to say about it. Number one, it's quiet. I have had it with loud gas motors and even worse with all the smells of gas and oil. The Neuton has none of that, and I don't worry about my kids getting asphyxiated using the thing outside either. In addition, there's the power of the machine. I have had problems for years with mowers that seemed to clog up, throw up, and then throw a rod when used in regular lawn situations. This Neuton I took outside after charging the battery only FIVE hours (couldn't wait to try it), and I mowed the entire lawn and more--and I have a huge lawn. It cut and mulched like no one's business, and the grass was even damp. Now, I have Kentucky Blue grass, so with other types of grass I am sure that the result won't always be the same...but with regular lawn types like mine--you just cannot beat the ease of use, the charging value, and of course the idea that you never have to change oil and mess with air filters, spark plugs, and the general mess the old Briggs engines brought to the garage. Time moves on, and this will be the last mower I buy...ever. Thanks Neuton company, I could not be more pleased.
Really surprised! June 8, 2010 R. Horn (Orange County, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this lawn mower at a local trade-in event, where the local air quality district was taking your old gas mower and giving out highly discounted electric units. I had the option of either Neuton or Black & Decker, 14" or 19". I opted for the Nueton, just liked its styling better. My old gas mower was self-propelled, but that feature stopped working long ago and made it even harder to push.
Well, if you think electic doesn't have the power, you are wrong. This mower surprised me! I am a gearhead, but opted for a battery powered mower to "save the planet". The first time I turned it on, I thought "WOW"!
I cut my lawn on the lowest setting, and it did great, considering that my old gas mower used to cut it at a higher level. It did bog on some big patches of crab grass, but it only slowed the blade down a little and kept on going. My lawn is about 3000 sq ft and the battery level only dropped by half, by the charge meter. Deffinately works as good as my old gas mower, but easier to push. It didn't pick up all the grass, but neither did my gas mower, going back over the area sucks it right up.
The best part is, no more having to wonder if I have enough fuel to cut the grass! Just take the battery out each time, and charge it. Throw the battery back in later, once I notice its done charging.
Since the outside is smooth plastic it also cleans up really easy too.
Very happy that I have this mower. Check with your local air quality board too, maybe they'll offer a discounted one in your area.
